The Niwot Community Semi-Marching Free Grange Band

(a community band of all ages and abilities for the enjoyment of playing and local performances)

"Always Under Construction"

We are a real "Yankee Doodle Dandy," born on the 4th of July (2005) when we first performed at the Whistle Stop Park bandstand dedication. We are a community band that performs a half dozen times a year for Niwot and local events.

We accept players of all levels, backgrounds, and ability.

We provide the music we use.

We have recently added "uniforms", which, in the non-conformist spirit of our group, are any band uniform you might find in whatever band you might play in or want to play in. (Come to an upcoming performance and see for yourself.) New recruits are usually issued ugly yellow hardhats and construction vests until they develop more imagination.

We typically practice about three times in the weeks prior to a performance.

The members of the band also sometimes do something for fun like join in a monthly meeting of the Rocky Mountain Chapter American Theatre Organ Society. This then leads to things like this:

watch-v=zcb-UoNfq1s (a YouTube video of the event.) [Not:e: lights and power were lost part-way through. You think somebody would have noticed.]
